‘How inconvenient!’: Entitled guy blocks accessibility ramp with his car, upstanding citizens retaliate by blocking him from leaving

Everyone hopes for individuals in their community who will stand up for them when push comes to shove. Unfortunately, few folks have upstanding citizens like these guys to come to their defense when someone else tries to get away with unacceptable behavior.

In this instance, we have a beloved member of a community who wasn't able to attend a service because the accessibility ramp was blocked by a newbie's BMW. The BMW guy seemed to lack any sense of self-awareness. After the author of this story helped the wheelchair user get into the building along with the assistance of a few friends, he decided to call the BMW driver out on his nonsense. Since he had the support of virtually the entire community on his side, the BMW driver was too outnumbered and too defenseless to double down on his behavior.   • It’s worth acknowledging that people make innocent mistakes all the time and park where they are not supposed to do so. Unfortunately, it became quite clear after the initial confrontation that this guy did not care for the rules and just thought he could get away with it. What he ended up learning, however, is that you never know who you’re messing with until it’s too late.

    I had just arrived at church. A good friend Kyle was in his custom electronic wheelchair and he was furious. You see someone had parked a new BMW right in front of the ramp that Kyle uses to get in.

    Well I went inside and got a wheelchair. I went down the steps and picked him up and carried him to the church's wheelchair. I then, with 3 other guys we picked up and carried Kyle's chair to the top

    We went outside and I said how inconvenient. I then proceeded to tear this guy a new After me chewing them out for 15 minutes I said they would have to wait. They were furious and called 911 claiming that they were being held against their will. Well the cop showed up and then I backed up.

    fover⚫ Speaking as a wheelchair user, bravo Sir. I've blocked people in and called bylaw to issue a ticket. One called the cops, saying the same thing as that guy. Hey, he's free to go as much as he wants but that vehicle is staying right there until it gets a ticket.

    a fun time knocking on doors to find who blocked them in (19 units in our building). I finally answer the door and it's three twenty- somethings who look like they slept in the clothes they were wearing last night

    telling me that I'm blocking them in. I told them they were actually blocking me out and I just parked as close to my spot as possible. I then told them I'd go move it when I had a chance. Made them wait another 20 minutes. Never got my spot taken again.
